Laws and Regulations

 

SOCIAL/GENERAL:

  1. No one may be discriminated against because of their race, religion, culture, language, sexuality, or disability.
  2. Citizens have the right to free speech.
  3. Citizens have the freedom of religion and personal worship.
  4. The age of consent is 18.
  5. The State legally considers citizens adults at the age of 18.
  6. Public nudity is forbidden.
  7. Public intoxication is forbidden.
  8. Citizens have the right to marry the person they wish, given that both parties are consensual and over the age of 18 years old.
  9. Citizens have the right to own firearms, within reason and regulation.
  10. It is forbidden to open/concealed carry a firearm in a public space. (This excludes members of the Defense Forces on duty, the Royal Family, and permitted citizens.)
  11. Citizens have the right to free self-expression, if said self-expression does not infringe upon other citizens’ rights or break any existing laws.
  12. Smoking of tobacco in public outside of designated areas is forbidden.
  13. Operating motor vehicles or machinery under the influence of narcotics is forbidden.
  14. One or more citizens may not defame the reputation of another or make defamatory accusations without proper cause and proof of cause.
  15. The consumption of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine products, and marijuana is forbidden for peoples under the age of 21.
  16. Personal consumption of and the growing of personal marijuana plants is permitted by adults 21 years of age or older.
  17. Women have the right to an abortion.
  18. Persons have the right to divorce for any reason they deem necessary.
  19. All forms of images, writing, and representations of fascism, religious extremism, communism, and other forms of repressive government types, groups, organizations, and entities are banned from being owned, displayed, or imported into the Kingdom. This includes the Confederate States of America, KKK, ISIS, ISIL, USSR, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Crusade groups etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

  1. No persons or organizations shall plant or bring invasive, harmful, or other banned species into the country without proper authorization.
  2. Hunting and gathering of natural resources such as fruits, herbs, mushrooms, animals, timber, minerals, etc., is only permitted during specified harvesting seasons with proper permitting. This can exclude invasive, dangerous, or harmful examples of the flora and fauna listed above.
  3. The burning of trash such as plastics, oils, chemicals, insulation, animal waste/byproducts, electronics, and clothing/textile materials is strictly forbidden. The disposal of the materials listed above are to be done in a proper manner and to the proper organizations.
  4.  The burning of organic plant waste, cardboard, timber, and paper products are permitted (ext. The burning of permitted materials is dependent upon the weather conditions and burn bans put into place.)
  5. Dumping of any kind into a water way/source is strictly forbidden.
  6. Spraying of non-organic pesticides or fertilizers is forbidden.
  7. All animals recognized as national symbols of the Kingdom, are protected by law. They are not to be harvested or harmed in anyway. (ext. Exceptions can be made to this law in cases of danger to humans, livestock, or pet life. Also, if the animal or plant is a food staple i.e.* American Alligators, Channel Catfish, Dew Berries, American Crawfish, they may be harvested within their prospective harvest seasons and within their tag limitations.)
  8. Flora that is used in herbal or medicinal uses may only be planted and grown within the Kingdom with the proper permission and if grown in a controlled manner.
  9. Construction of infrastructure, buildings, and monuments are to be done with the proper environmental protections and regulations.
  10. Energy sources within the Kingdom of Mattonia are to come from renewable and/or green sources.
  11. Light pollution is to be minimized to the best of the ability of the Kingdom.

 

COMMERCE:

  1. No company, organization, or entity within the Kingdom may conduct business or provide services without proper authorization.
  2. No company, organization, or entity within the Kingdom shall base its practices on misinformation, ill intent, or fraud.
  3. All transactions for goods and services are to be paid in the Mattonian Dollar, United States Dollar, or precious metals/minerals. i.e.* Gold, Silver, platinum, gemstones etc.
  4. Commerce and exchange of goods and services within the Kingdom, or from Mattonian based entities are subject to taxation.

RELIGIOUS:

  1. No religious organization, church, temple, mosque, etc. shall be exempt from taxation and service to the community. If such organizations form within Mattonia, their taxable exemption will be based upon the amount of community service they provide.
  2. No persons, organizations, churches, or entities may discriminate against a person or people based on religious ideas or beliefs.
  3. No public religious places of worship shall be built within the territories of the Kingdom without the express written consent of the Sovereign.

 

GOVERNMENT:

  1. No government staff member can accept any bribes or compensation for proposals of law, policies, or regulations.
  2. Members of government staff will receive no monetary compensation for their work to keep the interests of the people in mind and to prevent corruption.
  3. No persons, organizations, or entities may attempt to secede any part or territory into the formation of another state, without the approval and ratification into law of the Sovereign.
  4. All Ministries, organizations, entities, and their members are subject to audit from the Sovereign.
  5. The formation of political parties is forbidden.
  6. Use of Ministry of Defense personnel in an aggressive manner towards citizens is forbidden.
  7. The Sovereign may at any time terminate and or remove from office, any member of the government for whatever reason they deem fit.
  8. The Sovereign has the right and ability to refuse and or revoke citizenship from persons for any reason deemed necessary.
  9. Peoples who are members of government ministries, may not hold citizenship in another micronation/microstate.
  10. No laws, regulations, or policies may be proposed or ratified based upon the interests of foreign diplomats, heads of state, organizations, departments, or ministries.
  11. No law, or regulation can be submitted for ratification based upon religious viewpoints, preferences, laws, or customs.
  12. Appointed members of government do not have terms or limits to their time spent in said position, they serve at the pleasure of the Sovereign
